About Mark Zetzer

Mark Zetzer is a retired private sector working man and family man. Born in Sandusky, OH, in 1963, he grew up in Anderson, Indiana, where his father worked in factory management for General Motors. Mark graduated from Indiana University School of Business in 1985, and worked in Chicago and New York City before settling down in Shaker Heights, Ohio, in the 1990’s.

Mark first got into politics as a teenager in 1976, after watching his family’s living standard decline from inflation. He worked part time jobs to help out, and joined his high school Young Republicans Club to help Ronald Reagan get elected president in 1980. Mark considered a career in public service, but went to business school instead, confident that President Reagan would lower inflation.

Mark pursued a career in marketing and advertising, got married, and raised a family. He returned to politics in 2012, to organize against ruinous Shaker Heights tax levies. Mark’s campaigns to cut taxes and privatize services got him nominated for City Council, and as a Republican for U.S. Congress in OH-11. In 2016, Mark supported Donald Trump for president, but then lost his career and marriage.

Donald Trump was elected as the first private sector president, and his results-based policies helped Mark start his life over as a field surveyor. He moved to Geauga County in 2019 to escape high taxes, but Bidenflation and property tax hikes spurred Mark back into political action. Mark is running for Congress again in 2026, to bring back the America that he was born into, when an average single income-earner could afford a house and family.
